Industrial fans for high temperatures

Background

Industrial fans are used in a variety of applications. In this case we describe fans used in the industrial furnace industry. There are many different types of furnace applications, think of: Annealing furnaces up to 800°C, tempering furnaces up to 300°C, forging furnaces up to 1200°C. Furnaces can be heated electrically or with burners. In electric ovens, radiation elements or convection elements can be used. For burner ovens, natural gas, propane or oil burners can be chosen. Slingerland Techniek also offers many different solutions for this industry, such as plug fans for recirculation or centrifugal fans with special cooling fans or high-quality temperature-resistant paint.

Challenge

In this case, the customer designed a furnace installation to powder coat materials. The temperatures here could reach 350°C. They needed a total flow rate of 8300 cubic meters per hour and had to be able to build up a static pressure of 296 pascals.

Solution through industrial fans for high temperatures

In this case, we offered a belt driven centrifugal fan with a fully insulated housing. The design is belt driven so that the motor would definitely not come into contact with the extreme temperatures. The black coating is special for the high temperatures. Furthermore, the fan is equipped with a graphite seal and the impeller is manufactured from corten steel.
