304 stainless steel centrifugal fans are mainly used in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries and, as is the case here, the food industry. For example, one of our customers – an industrial processes service provision company from Eindhoven – recently received a request from a client. This innovative, leading European pet food company produces branded products for pets and private-label products for retailers. They wanted a solution for their steam tunnel extraction in the production process. Our customer came to us with this request, and together we looked for a suitable solution, which turned out to be our industrial stainless steel fan.
What problem does this industrial stainless steel fan need to resolve, exactly? To prepare the pet food – specifically for dogs in this case – ground offal is cooked in steam tunnels. Highly contaminated steam vapours (approx. 90°C), which also contain fats, are released during this process, and therefore cannot be easily extracted. Our customer initially enquired about plastic fans, but we recommended they should opt for industrial stainless steel fans because of the higher temperatures and the humidity levels in the room.
Once the decision had been made for industrial stainless steel fans, our customer installed extraction hoods above the pet food company’s steam tunnels. The vapours then had to be extracted before they could be removed by the hoods. We provided two different types of fans for this – supplying 3x BPR 352C with a 0.25kW WEG motor and 3x BPR 632C with a 1.50kW WEG motor. As you can see, Slingerland is all about versatility!
