Case studie

When welding stainless steel, not only welding fumes are released, but also warm air that would normally be lost. Instead of simply exhausting this heat, we developed a system that recovers and reuses the energy. This ensures a well-ventilated workspace without unnecessary heat loss. In addition, the installation was designed to be flexible — the extraction system for 17 workstations automatically adjusts to the number of active stations.

How does the system work?

In collaboration with Miltech, we installed a heat recovery system that includes:

✅ A Sult filter unit that efficiently captures welding fumes.
✅ An extraction fan that removes contaminated air.
✅ Two plug fans that blow clean air back into the workspace.
✅ A heat exchanger that uses the exhausted heat to preheat incoming air.
✅ Valves combined with a control system to maintain optimal balance between extraction and supply, regardless of how many workstations are in use.

What are the benefits?

Thanks to this system, approximately 16,000 m³/h of air is refreshed without significant energy loss. This ensures a healthy working environment and a lower energy bill. Additionally, the installation automatically adapts to the situation, so air is never extracted in excess of what is needed.
