Industrial oven fans

Background

In many industries, heat is needed for the production process. For this purpose, industrial ovens are often built. Think of furnaces to bake glass sheets, furnaces to bake bricks. Even the picture tubes of the first TVs were made in ovens.

Challenge

A fan completely customized for our customer so they do not have to modify their installation. Our customer had a fixed concept of furnaces for several years and always sells this complete concept. So his wish was to leave it as it is because it has been working well for years. So we worked with him to design a complete custom solution.

Solution through industrial oven fans

Together with the customer, we ended up designing 10 pieces of free-running plug fans for his industrial furnace. Each fan does 50,000 m³/h at 1390 pascals. The fans are equipped with 37kW, 4 pole WEG motors. The plug fans have reinforced steel impellers, profiled backward curved blades. Includes aluminum cooling impeller with protective cover. Furthermore, they have an insulated mounting plate with 100mm insulation. The fans are suitable for a maximum medium temperature of 240 degrees.

Heat-resistant centrifugal ventilators for powder coating installation

Today, Slingerland’s heat-resistant centrifugal ventilators represent true added value in numerous industrial sectors. Did you know, for example, that these ventilators even play a major role in the application of professional powder coatings? Find out more about our recent contract for oven ventilators for a professional powder coating line here!

Why use heat-resistant centrifugal ventilators in powder coating?

How our custom centrifugal ventilators are beneficial in such a powder coating installation? As follows: A powder coating installation or powder coating line generally consists of one or more sub-processes, always starting with proper pre-treatment. In a market that is becoming increasingly demanding, a growing number of companies are coming to the conclusion that an additional process, such as KTL/ATL or galvanisation, is necessary. This is the only way to meet the high-quality requirements.

After this type of pre-treatment, it is always necessary to use a drying oven. Afterwards, an even layer of powder coating is applied in the powder room. This hardens in the curing oven into a wear-resistant, hard protective layer.

In other words, the powder coating process is a series of processes, each of which needs to be perfectly coordinated. In these various steps, it is therefore essential that the air management is correctly implemented. Slingerland’s centrifugal ventilators are efficiently deployed for this task!

High-quality heat-resistant centrifugal ventilators at a fair price

The customer who recently approached us for centrifugal ventilators was an OEM company that had been manufacturing powder-coating systems for decades. To regulate their air management, the company used various types of oven ventilators, depending on the customer’s quality requirements. They offered an affordable solution of a B-brand and a high-quality solution of a German A-brand. However, there was a demand for a mid-range solution, where the quality was comparable to that of the German manufacturer but the price was closer to that of a B-brand. And of course, at Slingerland, we were able to provide just that solution!

We supply various models of oven ventilators

This customer required various types of ventilators for its processes, which would provide the air management in the drying and oven processes. We therefore supplied the following ventilators to Slingerland:

  • 7 Oven ventilators for 20,000m3/hr at 400Pa total pressure at 200°C. These types are equipped with a 7.5kW 4-pole WEG motor.
  • 6 Oven ventilators for 6,700m3/hr at 458Pa total pressure at 200°C.

Each of these centrifugal ventilators had a heat-resistant, silicone-free coating. In addition, they were equipped with a cooling fan and a special mounting profile for mounting certain oven parts.

The unique feature of these heat-resistant centrifugal ventilators was that they were custom-made, so that the oven did not have to be modified. For the customer, this meant that he could keep his existing design and still use new, alternative ventilators. A great advantage!
